This was to be the last post

Last pit stop
Crossing over the bridge now. And all the squat toilets in m'sia look like this

Pitstop

Reached segamat. At a shell station now for toilet break. I'd wager it's another 2 hours' journey to singapore

Trees, trees and more trees.

Just went past Chini, headed towards the direction of muazam shah. Went through a bit of rain, but now it's hot again!

The amazing thing about this picture is that both our bus and this tank was hurtling....in the opposite direction! And my camera managed to capture it.

Cukai

Post-trip comments

I call this place the worst stopover ever, for the whole trip. We were supposed to stop for prayers and lunch.

Why it was horrible
  1. toilets could not flush
  2. toilets had no water
  3. eating area had tons of flies
you cannot possibly imagine what happens when you can't flush toilet, nor was there any water to flush it down. (how toilets in malaysia generally look like, refer to "last post") You can't even wash your hands.

To make things worst, apparently the male toilets have no such problems.

Kijal - a long more to go

Dungun - 135 km to kuantan

Stopover no. 3

Still on the road. Third stopover since we departed from hotel. I didn't get down because it's too hot!

Last day

Went to several places after pool: keropok warehouse, batik centre and relatives house. Came back to hotel only at 12, and concussed at 1.45. Breakfast again this morning at 7. Since we have a bit of time, went to the beach.

Post-trip comments

Not much pictures here because we were pressed for time or I had my hands full or I concussed.

Afterward, on the last day, we went to the batik centre and keropok warehouse again, this time with the tour group (we didn't go to kelantan the previous day and went to these two places without the tour group).

Breakfast overload

It was buffet breakfast. Continental and local cuisine. Something I notice is that local cuisine have an awful lot of tuna in it. Not my favourite fish to begin with. Anyway,
I went for 3 rounds of breakfast So lunch was half a plate of fried rice and fried ice-cream. Still full. Ugh

Pool time

Didn't go kelantan after all. At the hotel pool instead

Broken reverie

Disturbed by this while we were getting ready for breakfast

Second night...

Sleepy...

Taman Tamaddun Islam and crystal mosque

Taman Tamaddun Islam and crystal mosque are the two must see sites when visiting terengganu. TTI has miniatures of mosques from around the world while the latter is an architectural site built over water.

Post-trip comments

On the way to Taman Tamaddun Islam, we passed by the "Batu Bersurat" replica in town. Dated from the 13th century, it is proof that Islam has spread to Terengganu at that century. It is currently housed in Terengganu national museum.

Taman Tamaddun Islam had replicas of various mosques from all over the world. When we bought the tix (which was a pricey RM20/adult for foreigners), they passed us a "passport" which is a brochure of sorts, describing the various mosques. You can walk all over the park, take a tram or rent bicycles to travel around the park. We took the tram, which was an additional RM3.50 per person. Some of the replicas were put a top a small building, and inside the building would be a showcase of the culture of the country where the mosque is located.

Apparently, this place is also a hot site for couples to take photos for their wedding photoshoot. I saw two couples.

Sigh

So we finally checked in. But horrible mix up with rooms...

Be needing recharge

After mosque, set out for breakfast. Horrors! Have to wait for another 4 hours to book into hotel. We wandered around after they dropped up off at the market place, Pasar Payang. Ate durians, then Breakfast for erfa and mum, tea break for the rest. Still have no success in getting prepaid card. Will probably ask at hotel.

And the net totally fails.

So much so for testing before hand. I guess nothing beats the good ol pc. None of my apps work, so that's that.
Here's a pic of eunos mrt where we departed. If you can see it that is.

Pitstop

Headache, people talking left and right. Just tired out by that.

Post-trip comments

We stopped over at Gelang Patah (Utara) for the first break. Everyone was pretty tired, but I guess still in high spirits
